Interest: Promising startup companies spinning out of the University of Washington and other Washington state universities will soon see a welcome infusion of cash thanks to a variety of local investors. A university-focused venture fund called The W Fund had its official launch Wednesday with $20 million to be invested in university startups over the next four years. The money is coming from left over Stimulus Act funds, UW donations, area venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and law firms.
