SERIES DESCRIPTION:

This series will feature venture funds that are run by universities that invest in university startups. Each webinar will feature universities and they will talk about their experiences of managing an in-house fund to foster better understanding of this timely topic as it helps bring about commercialization and entrepreneurship.

The Michigan Initiative for Innovation & Entrepreneurship provides gap funding to commercialize university IP and supports other university-business-economic development projects that help grow the state's entrepreneurial landscape.

Tina Bissell has a master's degree from the University of Michigan School of Information where she focused on information architecture. Following a consulting stink with Argus Associates, a seminal information architecture firm, she worked as conference planner for MEEN, the Michigan Entrepreneurship Education Network. She joined the Michigan Universities Commercialization Initiative (MUCI) in 2004 as Business Manager and has continued as MUCI expanded into MIIE, the Michigan Initiative for Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
